The Scouts had a great Summer Camp this July on the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake in the English Lake District. The weather wasn't always the greatest that we could have, but was much better than the reports of torrential rain and floods which we were receiving from further south! |

Some of the Scouts enjoyed a taster session of canoeing at the Waterside Centre last Sunday. We hope that a full course will be run later in the Summer. More photos in the Activities photo gallery.

The Scouts were out in force at the Three Towers Hike last weekend. This is a gruelling hike over the Berkshire Downs, with different distances for the different age ranges. Three Scout teams completed the Junior Hike, a distance of 24 km.
In the Senior Hike, a distance of 70 km Simon Gosden, Chris Ramsay and Dave Judge (your leaders!) completed the hike in 12 hours 56 minutes in 4th place overall abd won the award for the fastest team from outside Reading and Pang Calley Districts. In addition, Jess Paine completed the Senior hike in 15 hours 2 minutes (but the rest of her team dropped out!). Well done all of you - it's a long, long way. Full details will, eventually, be on the Three Towers web site . |

The whole of the Scout Association in the UK will be camping over the weekend 25th – 28th May 2007. These camps are designed for each and every member of the Scouting family. Scouts of all ages are known for camping and this is a great way to celebrate a hundred years fo Scouts. We will be joining the District, and every member of Wokingham Scouting, for this camp at Billingbear, north of the town. Details will be coming from your section leader very soon (if you haven't already got them) so make sure you book to be on this camp as quickly as you can. It'll be a great time! |

The group has registered for Sainsbury's Active Kids - http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/activekids - so get collecting those vouchers now. We can convert them into equipment, camping and activity gear so that we can do even more. Please pass all the vouchers you collect to Nancy or into the box in Finchbase kitchen. |
