1st Finchampstead is an active group, based in the village of Finchampstead, south of Wokingham in Berkshire. We have our own headquarters in California Country Park and do many activities both in our weekly meetings and on outside events, activities and camps.

We currently support the following sections:

• 2 Beaver Scout Colonies
• 2 Cub Scout Packs
• 2 Scout Troops
• One section of the District Explorer Scout Unit also meets at 1st Finchampstead.

1st Finchampstead is the oldest Group in the District, opening in October 1919. For many years, we met in the Old Scout Hut, in the southern part of the village until we built our own headquarters in 1988.

Many of our activities and camps take us to different areas, both far and near. In recent years Scout Summer Camps have been as far afield as Switzerland, the Lake District and Wales.
